What Are Termites?
Termites are a pale colored, soft body insect that are super social. Termites live in colonies under the ground or in wood structures. Termites are very dangerous because they work in “swarms” and cause great damage. They destroy any wood they come in contact with so it is very important to have your home protected from these pests!
How Do Termites Work?
Termites are often known as the “Silent Invaders.” The Problem with termites is you often do not know they exist until it is too late and major damage has been done. Termites cause more structural damage per year than tropical storms, hard to believe right? Termites feast on the inside walls or the beams of your attic and can not be heard. Termites need food, moisture and darkness. Termites live in colonies with a king, queen, reproductive workers and soldiers. The reproductive termites find a mate and find a home and start the reproduction. Once the “kids” have been laid and hatched, the kids feed them. Soldiers have one job, to defend the colony.
